Our volunteer writing partners are people of different ages, life stages and religious, cultural and education backgrounds. They share the desire to learn more about the Holocaust and support survivors in telling their stories in the manner that was meaningful to them.
Meeting Faigie Libman and working with her on her memoir was such a delight for me. Her warm and bubbly personality belies the darkness of her childhood experiences during World War II. She vividly described to me the terrors of that time and the courage and strength her mother demonstrated in protecting her. As Faigie has said, she tells her story to remind us all that we each have within us value and goodness to share with others. It was a privilege to assist her in expressing her message of hope and resilience.
